... I told him I had something more important to do first.

I did a 240 5 speed swap alone. Tell him to nut up.

KA24DE?

Yep. Swapped the digital cluster for analog, some kybs, and skinny tires. Mine was a coupe. I flew from kc to new york, drove it home and drove it stock until the auto grenaded. Then I drove like a hoon until family needs came first.
Previously had a turbo 200 s12. Next is a 510 idx, patience. Damn patience.

It's definitely doable by yourself. My buddy did so much work on his 240 that he was able to do a full engine/transmission swap in an hour and a half by himself.

It's done now. But his has an SR20DET and that seems to be a tighter fit than the KA. Had to do some mechanic gymnastics to get it back in.
His friend has a KA24 and needs a new clutch. Just curious if that is going to be as painful.
I think swapping the SR20 in for the KA was easier than transmission removal and install for the clutch repair of the SR20. Of course the SR swap was a year ago. The transmission install was last night / today.

Just loosen the motor mounts, goes pretty easy. The angle, clearance isn't the worst I've experienced. Getting the auto pilot out for the swap, was brutal while laying under a car.

My son bought a 300ZX a few years back. I helped him put a transmission in it. In return he helped me do a 5 speed swap in my BMW 2002. fun times.

Nice! Auto or manual? (Assuming manual)

Manual of course.
